About the Journal

International Journal of Armenian Genocide Studies (IJAGS) is an international, peer-reviewed bi-annual journal publishing high-quality, original research by the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Foundation since 2014.

IJAGS only publishes manuscripts in English.
IJAGS accepts only the original articles.

IJAGS considers all manuscripts on the strict condition that:
1. the manuscript is your own original work, and does not duplicate any other previously published work, including your own previously published work;
2. the manuscript has been submitted only to IJAGS; it is not under consideration or peer review or accepted for publication or in press or published elsewhere.


Aims and Scope
IJAGS contains theoretical papers on genocide studies, atrocity crimes, modern history, memory studies etc. with a special focus on the Armenian Genocide.

The papers will be of interest to academic researchers working in many fields, including but not limited to: anthropology, law, education, gender studies, history, arts and literature, philosophy, political science, psychology, religious studies and sociology etc.


Open Access Policy
IJAGS is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or their institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.


Abstracting and Indexing
International Journal of Armenian Genocide Studies is indexed/abstracted in Crossref, DOAJ and EBSCO.


Licensing Terms
The articles published in IJAGS are available for readers under the Creative Commons license: Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0). The licensing information are indicated on each article website and since 2021 also on all published articles.


Copyright Terms
The authors are copyright holders. They retain the copyright rights without restrictions.


Publication Frequency
The periodicity of the Periodical is two issues per year.


Publishing Fees
The journal does not charge authors for article submission, processing or any publishing-related activities.


Archiving Policy
All IJAGS periodical issues get archived in the National Library of Armenia (2 hard copies) and in IJACS’ own site, Pan-Armenian Digital Library and EBSCO (soft copies).


Repository policy
Authors are allowed to deposit a copy of their published paper in an institutional or other repository of their choice.
